Harbor Village’s Aldi Dreams Are Finally Coming True
Mirabay and Apollo Beach residents, rejoice — it’s finally happening. After months of anticipation (and a few doubts), renovations are officially underway to bring an Aldi to the old Winn-Dixie building in Harbor Village.
Soon you’ll be able to snag low-cost produce, fill your cart with private-label favorites, and breeze through a famously fast checkout. Or, if you’re feeling adventurous, you can always cross the street and battle the crowds at the soon-to-open Walmart. Your call.
The Aldi rumors started swirling back in 2024 when the plans were first announced, sparking a wave of excitement in the community. But like many local projects, a few unexpected snags had residents wondering if the discount grocer would ever break ground.
Well, wonder no more — it’s full steam ahead. While an official opening date hasn’t been set just yet, the transformation of the old Winn-Dixie space is in motion.
And for those still holding out hope for progress at Woody’s Car Wash on the corner of the same plaza… don’t. You might be better off washing your car in the rain.
