His prime was a little before my time, but who among us can claim to have never had the urge to “do the twist?”
Well Southshore—your chance is coming this Friday.
That’s right, Chubby Checker, the man who made “The Twist” a full-body cardio movement before Peloton was a glimmer in anyone’s eye, is performing live at The Regent in Riverview on April 18.
And no, this isn’t a cover band. It’s the real Chubby Checker. The guy who dropped “The Twist” at 18 years old, got America out of its chairs, and somehow hit No. 1 on the Billboard charts twice with the same song—something even Beyoncé hasn’t done (yet).
