Cinco de Mayo Southshore Style
Here at The Southshore Circle, we know a thing or two about tequila — and ten or twenty things about tacos. So naturally, a Cinco de Mayo celebration is right up our alley.
Whether you want to split a taco with your favorite sea creature or throw back a few spicy jalapeño margaritas with your amigos, we’ve got you covered.
But first — a little story.
A few years back, my son played soccer for the Wimauma Warriors. And during our time there, I stumbled upon what might be — and I say this with full confidence — the best street tacos in America.
It was some end-of-season party for another team. A parent had the tacos catered. They were kind enough to share. And with one bite, I was hooked. Thus began my long, noble quest to find the tastiest taco in all of Southshore.
I’ve searched high and low, and in doing so, I’ve sampled nearly every taco on this side of the Hillsborough River. So when I say I know my street tacos — I’m not guessing. I’m speaking from hard-earned, tortilla-wrapped experience.
Now, as for tequila… that’s a story for a very different newsletter. Let’s just say, like most grown-ups, I’ve got a tequila story or two. And if there’s ever a time to relive them (responsibly, of course), it’s Cinco de Mayo.
